The Content Developer is responsible for developing employment content relating to specific jobs for online modules, while working alongside with the third-party Web Developer on online training for refugees overseas. 

Reports to: Program Manager 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researches and gathers up-to-date employment information for different provinces
  • Liaises and networks with employer partners to develop job-specific content
  • Maintains a positive and supportive working relationship with community employment partners including service providers
  • Assists in the delivery of focus groups to collect content to develop, review and refine learning material
  • Supports and develops online occupational content
  • Develops curriculum and video training content for online training modules
  • Creates detailed and compressive learning materials using creative mediums
  • Stays abreast of current technology, labour market and e-learning trends/innovations
  • Liaises with the third-party Web Developer and video production crew on the online video training modules
  • Liaises with interpreters and translation professionals on employment content for website and video training lessons
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates the training and instructional website
  • Provides online support to overseas refugees in accessing and navigating websites and online occupational modules
  • Ensures all services meet accreditation standards
  • Maintains up-to-date records
  • Attends supervision and team meetings as required
  • Attends division staff meetings/retreats and trainings as required
  • Works closely with staff members of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. divisions/offices in providing joint support to individuals and families
  • Reviews graphs and informatics as potential content to be shared with clients
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Post-secondary Diploma in Social Science/Business/Content Development or related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in design, development, writing content related to labour market websites and marketing materials
  • Extensive knowledge about local employment resources
  • Extensive knowledge in copywriting, graphic design and technical work an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Instructional Design methodology, including storyboarding
  • Knowledge in supporting the needs of refugees relating to employment perspectives
  • Knowledge and experience in working and engaging Government Assisted Refugees overseas

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Second language knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, be flexible and results-oriented
  • Ability to work as a team player with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong knowledge of visual studio software
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and social media
  • Advanced level in using technology with ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications

  • Criminal Record Check Required (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
